What is Focus?

In June 2014, the Douglas County School System, in partnership with Communities in Schools of Douglas County, completed the renewal year of an ongoing 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant program.  The program was again renewed for the 2019/2020 school year on a 5 year grant with Communities in Schools of Douglas County.   The program serves students at Stewart Middle School and other schools in the Douglas County School System. These schools have been in the 21st Century Grant Program since 2006.

Registration Requirements

Parents are required to attend an orientation session each year before students are allowed to attend the program. Parents must complete a student registration sheet during the orientation session.

Attendance

Good attendance is critical for students! If students are not at school, they are missing critical instruction. Please strive for perfect attendance this year! The more days your child is in school the more they are learning. The 21st CCLC (Century Community Learning Centers) program requires students to attend Monday – Friday for a minimum of 12 hours per week.

**For questions or concerns in relation to program spending or suspected misappropriation of these federal dollars, please contact the Douglas County School System finance office or call 770.651.2262.
