Peace and Blessings Beautiful Beings!! My name is Ms. Kacie Blair and I am THE Visual Arts teacher and Yearbook Advisor at Stewart Middle School! I am a natural born Georgia girl raised in Cobb County. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Art Education degree from the University of West Georgia and my Master's of Art and Design in Art Education from Kennesaw State University. I have been making art since elementary school and I absolutely love experimenting with new media, techniques and processes.
When I'm not being the "artsy fartsy" version of Ms. Frizzle, I am either hiking along the Chattahoochee River, making my own artwork, experimenting in my kitchen, traveling around the world, dopa-mining down a "rabbit hole", reading a fantasy novel, volunteering with the Atlanta Mission, spending time with family and friends, or any combination of these! It's fun being a multi-tasker, haha!
And in the mix of all this, I found a deep passion for art and working with children. Becoming an art educator was a massive goal for me early on, and through it I believe I can help push young emerging artists to feel confident in their own abilities, and unfearful of exploration and experimentation through the art world. I want them to think critically and creatively about the world around them. "It's only intimidating if you aren't being creative."
