Fourth Unit in Motion: Students Put Energy to the Test!

Get ready for some serious thrills and spills! Stewart Middle School's budding engineers have been hard at work designing and building their very own roller coasters, all from simple, everyday materials. This hands-on project is the culmination of our fourth unit, which dives deep into the fascinating world of speed, distance, velocity, and acceleration.

The Challenge: Energy and Motion in Action

The challenge was simple: design a roller coaster that demonstrates the principles of energy and motion we've been studying. Imagine the classroom transformed into a bustling construction zone, with students meticulously crafting tracks, building loops, and designing drops. Instead of textbooks and worksheets, they were armed with cardboard tubes, tape, legos, and a whole lot of creativity!

"It was amazing to see the students apply the concepts we've learned in class to a real-world project," said Mrs. Pope, the instructor behind this exciting endeavor. "They had to think critically, problem-solve, and work collaboratively to create roller coasters that were both functional and creative. And, they had fun!"
