My name is Tanganeki Arfre' Weatherspoon (affectionately called Mrs. T. Spoon).  This is my 27th year teaching, I have been teaching at Stewart Middle School for 17 years after teaching at Forest Park Middle School in Clayton County for 10 years.  I have my Master's in Teacher's Leadership from Columbus State University.  I received my undergraduate degree from The Fort Valley State University and have completed the Douglas County School System's Aspiring Assistant Principal Program.

I am currently the English Language Arts Department Chair, teaching 6th Grade Language Arts (regular, and advanced) classes.  I have been the Beta Club Sponsor and also sponsor D. I. V. A. S. (Developing Integrity Virtues and Awareness of Self), a girls group for girls to build positive image self esteem both for 10 years.  I am also one of the Site Coordinators for our 21st Century After School Program and serve as the Building Lead Mentor for the teachers new to the building.  I am excited to begin another year at the "STEW"!

I am a native of Douglasville, Georgia, but moved to Fort Valley and graduated from Peach County High School in 1989.  I have 1 daughter, Khadijah Onye' who graduated from Douglas County High School and Vogue Beauty College in Hiram, Georgia, she is a master braider/ Slay Creator.  I am married to Kevin Genard Weatherspoon, who is a 20 year retired Navy Veteran and 1989 Peach County High School graduate.

I am a member of St. Peter Overcoming Church of God in Rockmart, Georgia. I serve as the secretary for BEHE (Black Education Historical Exhibit), Independent Paparazzi Consultant, Caterer, and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

I am happy to be a part of such a wonderful faculty, school and community.  I am ready to SOAR with the Eagles while we are in the L.A. B.  I agree with the philosophy that it takes a village to raise a child and can assure you, that while in my care I will treat your child as if they were my own.  I will nurture, care for and most importantly teach them.   It is my goal to teach the students writing, reading, speaking skills along with grammar and survival tips for day to day living.  I hope to take the students on a journey they will not forget!

My motto is:  THE WAY YOU DO ANYTHING, IS THE WAY YOU DO EVERYTHING.

Let's take this journey together, because there is no I in TEAM.
